Remote Printers

 

Name: This is the name that has been given to the remote printer.
Description: This is the description of the items it will be printing.
URL: This is the address at which the printer is linked to the internet.
Type:This is the method in which data is transmitted/received by the printer.
Leading Blank Lines: The amount of blank lines prior to information being printed on the receipt.
Trailing Blank Lines: The amount of blank lines after the information being printed on the receipt.
Character set: This is the characters that the device can print, generally ASCII characters.
Change print mode: This settings allows you to change how the characters on the receipt ticket look.
Group by: This section allows you to group the receipts that will print by sales group.
Changes only: This setting allows you to choose whether the printer should print everything or just changes to the original receipt.
New items only: This setting allows you to choose whether the printer will print all items or only new items.
Show comp: This setting allows the printer to show items comped as well as the information associated with that on the receipt.
Show discount: This setting allows the printer to show items discounted as well as the information associated with that on the receipt.
Ignore hold: This setting allows the printer to ignore the hold that would be placed on an item from the terminal.
Printer Order receipt only: This setting allows the printer to only print the order receipt.
Print individually: This setting allows the printer to print individual items. I.E Fish seperate from Steak even though its for the same table.
Handheld Printer: This setting is used if the printing device is handheld and meant to be portable.
Label Printer: This setting is used if printing labels from the device.
Die Cut Label Paper: This setting is used if printing die cut labels from the device.
Chars per Line: This setting is used for changing the max number of characters on one line for every receipt. I.E 32, 42, 57.
Enabled: This setting is used to Enable or Disable the remote printer from use.
Order Area: This area is just like regular "areas" except just a bit more specific.
Multi recipe: This area is designed so that the printer can easily have recipes added to it rather than just one by one.
Recipes: This area is designed so that the person using Back Office is able to quickly see the items that will be printed out on this device.
Order Type: This area is designed so that the person using Back Office is able to choose what types of orders they would like to print from this device.
Backup: The backup printer will automatically resume printing functions for the main network printer if it is defective or offline.
Dependent: This function enables other printers to depend on a printer, network or otherwise. It allows staff to communicate when food/items are ready in each area.
Areas: Printers assigned to a specific area will only print tickets within that area. For example: Bar, patio, main dining, etc.
Printers:
Parallel: 25-pin printer connection, connected directly to the terminal port. The printer must be configured to LPT1 to send and receive data.
Serial: 9-pin printer cable, dip switch settings on the printer must be configured and it will connect to the COM 1,2,3, or 4 port.
USB: This printer type uses the Terminal USB drive, and must be configured by Support on an arranged time/date. The connection should be set to LPT1.
Network: A printer that uses the internet, or the network to send and receive data. Most printers have a utility application where settings and IP addresses can be configured.
