PAX Error Transaction Messages
Version 1.1
Processing with PAX
The Desktop App is simply acting as the POS System so the terminal knows what to do (i.e. Transaction Type & Amount) and can receive the response back from PAX to update Gateway Reporting.
Once the system needs to complete a payment, the POS system sends the amount and an order number to the PAX device.
The PAX device handles the full payment to the processor, not sharing any card holder data back to the POS system.
Transaction Status Messages
The Status Message received back from the PAX Terminal during a transaction attempt can help identify if a transaction was successful or unsuccessful.
If unsuccessful, it is important to understand the explanation behind the status message in next steps for troubleshooting.
