The following steps should be taken when setting up a CD-70 customer display for a terminal:
1. If you do not see any video on the CD-70, download the Displaylink driver: http://www.displaylink.com/downloads/windows
2. Once you are able to see video, download the Virtual Line Display driver, which is attached to this article.
3. Once the driver is installed, go to Start>All Programs>Virtual Line Display>LineDisplay_Tools
4. Under New Port name, type COM7 and then click Rename. Wait for the prompt and then click OK. (Reboot is not required)
5. Go to Start>All Programs>Virtual Line Display>open Virtual Line Display.
6. From here you can modify the background image and colors. When finished click OK.
7. If you don’t already have the CD7220 utility, download and install it. It is attached at the top of this article as customer1132.zip.
8. Open the utility from Start>CustomerDisplay. Click Close the port, then Communications Set. From the pull down menu choose COM7 then Set OK and Exit. Now go to Display Setting then Emulation mode and choose ESC/POS.
You should now be able to open your software to communicate with the display.
