Ordyx Customer Account
Restaurants using Ordyx Customer Accounts for gift cards need to purchase the gift cards from a 3rd party vendor. We refer our customers to plasticprinters.com for all magnetic strip cards. The card is activated by selecting “Deposits”; entering an amount; swiping the card, so once the card has been swiped, it creates an open order with “Deposit” listed as the menu item and the price being the balance that was added to the card. Then the user processes it like any open order. Once the gift card is purchased, it will have a balance associated with it. Deposits can also be comped in the open order screen, however the permission needs to be assigned to the user ***FOH COMP DEPOSIT****. When a customer uses their gift card as payment, the employee will select the “Bill” payment option. Tips may be applied after the order is closed or on the payment screen as long as the tip entered does not exceed the balance of the gift card.
