on drawer (default mode) In order to receive cash payments, for each terminal with a cash drawer, it must be cashed-in. If cash drawer is not cashed in, it will prompt user to cash in drawer before handling any cash. Cash on drawer
Only In order to make cash payments, the terminal needs a cash drawer. If a user attempts to make cash payments on a terminal without a cash drawer, the system will notify them to make the payment at a terminal with a cash drawer. Types of restaurants: Customers pay at front terminal. The user does not give cash payments to servers. Diners (ex: IHop, Denny’s, Steak N’Shake, Skillets)
No restrictions
This option is never recommended to the customer. If the customer requests this option, find out exactly what they want to do and see if it can be set up with the other options. The users are allowed to take cash payments at any terminal whether or not it has a cash drawer; Cash drawer does not have to be cashed-in. If the cash drawer is not cashed-in, the cash payment will go towards the users’ bank. If the cash drawer is cashed-in, the user that makes the cash payment will put the cash inside the cash drawer (if the user is assigned to the cash drawer). Types of restaurants: Terminal with a cash drawer in which bartenders and servers will use (a swivel terminal inside a lounge/bar).
