Custom Payment Type

Custom Payment Type is used when a store wants to use Grub Hub, Uber Eats, Groupon or a similar method.

Custom Payment type doesn't take a payment actually, it just tracks and records the transactions. The payments for the store will be received through the actual company that they are using such as Uber Eats, Grub Hub or something similar.

To create a Custom Payment type, the user should go into Back Office.

Select: Setup
Select: Custom Payment Type
Select: "+" symbol
Enter name of the service, "Uber Eats" as an example
Enter a description
Also check off the boxes that apply to the users needs.
Most of the time you can just check the Merchant Receipt and Customer Receipt

Once this is done, you can find this payment type under the store settings, under the payment tab. You can fine tune the settings for this such as: No Tip Line, Allow Cash Back, Open Drawer, Prompt for Receipt and so on.


To make a payment using Custom Payment Type....

Create Order
Click Pay
Select "Uber Eats" or whatever the custom payment type is named
Adjust tip if need be, and click process.


Custom Payment Type permission
Once you have the Custom Payment Type setup, for a staff member to be able to use this, you will have to add the following permission to the Role of the staff member is logged in under.

FOH ORDER PAY OTHER

Typically managers will also need to be able to void this payment type. Add the below permission to the manager role or whatever roles the customers requests.
