Gift
This method serves as a way for users to process gift cards through four gift card merchants we integrate with: Mercury, STS (Smart Transaction System), Secure Payment Systems and Valutec.
When a customer uses gift cards from these companies as payment, the employee will select the ‘Gift’ button on the payment screen. A tip can only be applied on the payment screen of the order as long as the tip entered does not exceed the balance of the gift card. The cash drawer can be enabled or disabled. Cashback can be allowed or disallowed for gift card payments and it can be set to disallow taxes to be paid with the gift card. The permission called ***FOH ORDER PAY GIFT*** must be added to the user’s role. To void a gift payment use the permission ***FOH ORDER PAY VOID GIFT***. This will put the balance back onto the gift card.
