Configuring an SNBC Network Printer using BYNetWinConfig

Question or Problem: SNBC Network printer configuration

Equipment or Software affected: SNBC printer connected to the network.

Solution:

This is the process of setting up any SNBC printer connected to the system via the network.

  • First make sure the printer is powered on and connected to the network via the local area connection as with all network printers it will need to be on the same network as the terminals.

  • Navigate to https://www.crs-usa.com/products/printers/impact-printers and select any printer from that page.

  • Scroll down the page until you see the Printer Utility option as displayed below. Select the link and it will download a .zip file. Extract the file to the desktop.

  • After extracting the file navigate to the directory PrinterUtility_V1.61\PrinterUtility V1.61\BYNetWinConfig and run the BYNetWinConfig application.

  • After the program runs you will want to select Protocol Operation(O) this will open another window with some additional options as shown below.
  • Make sure the IP Protocol type is set to Ipv4, then start with the first option for search protocol from the list then click OK. This will search using the protocol selected if the printer does not show in the list reopen the window and select the next option down then close. Repeat this process until the printer displays in the list. If the printer does not show in any protocol check the cable and perform normal network troubleshooting then attempt again.
  • After the printer shows in the utility highlight and select IP Parameter Settings (I) option then set the IP using the same steps as a normal epson setup. When you complete configuring the IP settings you will need to select the Reboot Device(R) option.
  • Complete a test in Ordyx to ensure the settings are correct.
